Training Programs for Georgian Scholars (TSU-UTD Program)

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, in partnership with the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), is executing a professional development program funded by the U.S. Embassy in Georgia and the Department of State.
The aim of the program is to provide support to doctoral students and early-career researchers in the fields of natural and economic sciences while fostering the development of their research and academic competencies. The program is specifically designed for PhD students and early-career academic staff from accredited public research universities in Georgia who seek to enhance their research and academic writing skills through an intensive study program in the United States.
Participation in the program enhances applicants' opportunities to publish their research findings in internationally recognized journals and positions them as active mentors for their future students.

The 8-week fully funded program is designed to advance participants' professional and academic skills and includes a variety of activities, such as:

  • Two-week intensive English program, designed to enhance language proficiency and facilitate adaptation to the international academic environment.
  • Training in academic and grant writing for engaging in international projects.
  • Dissertation preparation to help participants systematize and advance their research activities.
  • Presenting to academic audiences to enhance participants' communication and presentation abilities.
  • Additional activities focused on expanding professional networks and advancing participants' career development.
