Every year, the quality assurance service analyzes the position of TSU in the rankings of World Universities and the indicators in various directions, which it uses to evaluate the university's activities. Every year, a report is prepared, which is presented to the university administration, with relevant recommendations.

Ranking is an established practice in the international academic space. It serves as an indicator of an institution’s position in the global academic community and helps universities strengthen their social responsibility, research value, international role, visibility, and reputation.
For the first time, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is participating in one of the world’s most prestigious and popular university rankings - the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings, which evaluates universities based on their alignment with and progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
