TSU Students Celebrate Beginning of Studies with Major Event

 

A party dedicated to the beginning of studies was held for the students of Tbilisi State University (TSU).

TSU Rector Jaba Samushia addressed the students who gathered outside and congratulated them on becoming TSU students. “I am happy to see so many smiling faces. For me and for you, Tbilisi State University is a great phenomenon that has created the recent history of the country. Today, you are the generation that will create the history of our country tomorrow. We will do our best to provide you with quality European education. The country needs young people like you. We are proud of you!”

In his welcome speech, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science, Giorgi Amilakhvari said: “My friends, you are the best students of the best university! Congratulations to all freshmen and university students on this day. Remember, being a university student is an honor and it is great to see so many of you here today. Tbilisi State University, which preserves the history of Georgia and has witnessed many upheavals, has played a significant role in shaping modern society. My goal is to provide you with ample opportunities to reach your potential and enjoy an interesting student life full of new adventures and challenges.”

Around 15,000 students, including over 6,200 freshmen, participated in the entertainment event.

The musical performers at the student party were Niaz Diasamidze, Monk, SUMO, Telepopmusik and URU.
