Сall for applications within the framework of Erasmus + International Credit Mobility for a semester abroad at the Ca’Foscari University of Venice (Italy) for TSU students of the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth semester of Bachelor level, the first and the second semester of Master level and the first, the second, the third and the fourth semester of PhD level studies*

 

 

!!! The implementation of physical mobility will depend on the epidemiological situation in Georgia and Italy

 

 

 

The given call is valid for the following fields of TSU students of the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth semester of Bachelor level, the first and the second semester of Master level and the first, the second, the third and the fourth semester of PhD level studies: Archaeology, History, Philosophy, English Philology, Italian Philology, American studies.  

 

 

Period/semester of mobility: Fall Semester of the Academic Year 2021

 

The applicants for the given call should meet one of the below listed prerequisites:

Own one of the following foreign language (English or Italian) proficiency certificates (B2 level):

a)  English language proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or CAMBRIDGE certificate);  

b)  Italian language proficiency (CILS or PLIDA) taken no earlier than 2 calendar years before the application deadline;

c)  TSU institutional language test results (October 5th, 2020, or March 2, 2021, with a minimum score of 71 points)

OR

d)  Certificate of study abroad at a university level for a minimum of 1 semester on a fully English/Italian instructed program.   

 

 

Selection process:

Stage 1: Eligibility check (Tbilisi State University);

Stage 2: Interview with the selection committee (Tbilisi State University);

Stage 3: Nomination for mobility (Tbilisi State University)/scholarship award (host University).

 

 

Required documents:

  1. A copy of a passport;
  2. Filled and signed application form (appendix 1)
  3. CV in Europass Format in English (PhD level students should indicate their publications, seminars and conferences); 
  4. Certificate of enrollment at TSU (in English);
  5. A Transcript of Records of current academic level (in English; the document should indicate the GPA);
  6. A certificate of English language competence (see above the Prerequisites section. Applicants with the minimum score of 71 points in TSU institutional language test, do not need to upload a document);
  7. A scanned copy of the Bachelor’s diploma (only for Master level students);
  8. A scanned copy of the Diploma Supplement in English (only for Master level students; the document should indicate the GPA);
  9. A scanned copy of the Master’s diploma (only for PhD level students);
  10. A scanned copy of the Diploma Supplement in English (only for PhD level students; the document should indicate the GPA);
  11. Duly filled and signed learning agreement (check carefully the web page of the Ca’Foscari University of Venice), make note of courses relevant to your home faculty study level and program, consult with the home faculty Quality Assurance Service and then fill in the first page of the document; once filled, the document should be signed by a relevant representative of the home Faculty QA service and the applicant), appendix 2
  12. A letter of recommendation (recommendation should be submitted electronically by filling in the questionnaire available in the mobility management portal (mobility.tsu.ge), by a recommender indicated in the application form by the applicant; the questionnaire is sent automatically to the e-mail address entered in the portal by the applicant).
  13. A motivation letter (in English) with the following technical specifications:  length - no more than 1 page; font - Times New Roman, font size - 12, line spacing - 1.0, fields – 2cm. The motivation letter should be written in a relevant language (medium of instruction at the selected host institution/program).
  14. Work plan (in English or Italian language; no more than 2 pages; only for PhD level students)  appendix 3.
  15. Letter of interest/confirmation letter from the host university (only for PhD level students) (please contact:  international.cooperation@unive.it, send CV and work plan).  

 

 

Interested eligible applicants should register at mobility.tsu.ge, upload the full application package (in PDF format) no later than 14:00 on March 29, 2021 

 

* For the attention of the fifth and upper semester PhD level students wishing to apply for PhD scholarships: for the fifth and upper semester PhD level students, who fail to complete their studies within 6 academic semesters (due to the difficulty of the topic), in case of presenting the certificate issued by the faculty on the above-mentioned problem, they will be allowed to the contest. Please see the detailed information in English appendix 4.

 

Additional important information:

 

a) Electronic registration portal mobility.tsu.ge  

Please note that the mobility management portal mobility.tsu.ge mobility.tsu.ge:

  • Does not allow submissions after the deadline (14:00, March 29, 2021.);
  • Does not allow to register an incomplete application package. 
  • The application form is considered electronically submitted only after pressing the send button. 
  • Upon successful submission of the application, the applicant will receive a relevant email notification.
  • The date and time of the interview will be communicated individually to all applicants on the e-mail address indicated in the portal mobility.tsu.ge.
  • Applicants will be interviewed remotely in a language used as a medium of instruction at the selected host institution(s)!

 

b) Finances and restrictions related to Covid-19

Please note that:

  • Physical mobility may be related to compliance with administrative rules and regulations regarding entry into the host country, such as PCR examination (once or repeatedly), stay in quarantine space, travel, health and accident insurance that is related to the financial costs. All such costs should be paid for by the selected student(s).
  • As a result of the restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the selected student(s) will receive the first tranche of the scholarship no earlier than 6 weeks after arriving at the host university, registering at the local municipality and at the bank department.
  • Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in exceptional cases, mobility for the Fall semester 2021 may be cancelled or postponed until the Spring semester of 2021-22 academic year!
  • In case of delay mobility, if the Spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year is the ending semester for the student, the scholarship will be considered cancelled.  
  • In accordance with Article 492, Paragraph 4 of the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, students retain active enrolment at their home universities while on a study abroad. Therefore, successful completion of the administrative registration at TSU at the beginning of each semester spent abroad is absolutely mandatory! Noncompliance with this rule will result in the suspension of mobility.
