Cleveringa Lecture
We are pleased to inform you that the Cleveringa Lecture took place in Tbilisi State University.
The lecture was delivered by Professor Emeritus Niels Blokker of Leiden University, one of the world’s leading experts in the law of international organizations.
Following the public lecture, a discussion was held.
Rudolf Cleveringa, a professor at Leiden University, is remembered for his courageous speech on 26 November 1940, in which he publicly protested against the actions of the Nazi occupation authorities. His address has since become a symbol of academic freedom, non-discrimination, and moral courage. Since 1946, the Cleveringa Lectures have been held annually in the Netherlands and abroad to honour his act of resistance and to encourage reflection on these enduring values.
