Presentation of a monograph "Conflict Between Domestic and International Norms Regulating Internal Waters and the Territorial Sea"- by Associate Professor Dr. Eka Siradze

On 7 april, a presentation of a monograph entitled "Conflict Between Domestic and International Norms Regulating Internal Waters and the Territorial Sea"- by Associate Professor Dr. Eka Siradze, was held in the Tbilisi State University. The presentation was held under the auspices of International Law Institute and Jean Monnet Center of Excellence  DRG. 
The audience was welcomed by vice rector of TSU Dr. Nino Gvenetadze; Dean of faculty of law, associated professor Dr. Moris Shalikashvili; Director of an International Law Institute, professor Dr. Irine Kurdadze. Speakers highlighted the importance of monograph as a comprehensive research about the relationship between modern international and national law and the fact, that study will have an important contribution for the development of International Maritime Law and International Law, study also has a practical importance for researchers and practitioners. 
Professor Irine Kurdadze drew special attention to activities held within the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence “Democracy Resilience in Georgia”. She emphasized the important role of Doctor Eka Siradze in the scope of the project, among them: renew the course of International Maritime Law and Human Rights Law in Tbilisi State University, also within the DRG drafting research paper on maritime security, throughout the project, several scientific publications was made for international prestigious publishing houses-  "Georgia's Constitutional Identity in the Context of EU Accession Negotiations" and  "Realization of the Right to Education of Ethnic Minorities". In addition, she was supervisor of a doctoral seminar research at the doctoral level. Within the centre, public lectures and trainings are also regularly held, which supports the rise of an academy consciousness and strengthening public dialogue.
Associated professor, Dr.  Eka Siradze introduced the main findings of monograph to the audience. Author mentioned, that all the treaty and legislative initiatives at international, regional or national levels implemented over the last 100 years, just like decisions of international courts about the right to sail of sailing in general and, especially a military, nuclear and other ships carrying dangerous goods in  internal waters and territorial sea are reflected in the paper. 
The presentation of a monograph was held with active involvement of professional society.
