Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Melin Arakelian, Visits TSU

On May 20, 2025, H.E. Melin Arakelian, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, visited Tbilisi State University, upon the invitation of the Human Rights Centre of the Institute of International Law at the Faculty of Law.

The Ambassador was hosted by the academic staff of the Institute, the Human Rights Center, and the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence and was introduced to the work and activities of the Institute and the Centers.

Ambassador Arakelian also delivered a public lecture, where she presented the legislative framework of the Netherlands regarding the protection of human rights. She placed special emphasis on the importance of human rights in the foreign policy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The audience was welcomed by Professor Irine Kurdadze and Professor Konstantin Korkelia.

Ambassador Arakelian also spoke about her professional experience and diplomatic work, which further enriched the theoretical and practical value of the lecture. The meeting concluded with a Q&A session.
