The event titled “Women in Traditional Society” was held at Tbilisi State University with the participation of TSU’s women society. The event was organized on the initiative of the Deputy Chairperson of the Tbilisi City Council, Tinatin Nibloshvili.
The meeting addressed the role of women in traditional societies, contemporary challenges, women’s rights and gender issues. The interdisciplinary discussion raised questions from various perspectives.
The following speakers presented their reports: Ketevan Khutsishvili - “The Role of Women in the Process of Cultural Transmission”; Rozeta Gujejiani - “The Property and Rights Status of Women in Georgia.”
The lectures were followed by a discussion, and later an exhibition supported by the TSU Museum, which further highlighted the importance of the day.
