Jaba Samushia Signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Fergana State University

 

Within the framework of university cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia, the Rector of Tbilisi State University, Jaba Samushia, and the Rector of Fergana State University (Republic of Uzbekistan), Bakhodirjon Shermuhammadov, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The memorandum aims to develop bilateral relations in the field of education and science, taking into account the partnership and close international relations between the two countries.   

 

The memorandum provides for the exchange of academic and administrative personnel, as well as students for internships and scientific practice between the two universities; the development and implementation of dual degree educational programs; the organization of academic and working meetings, symposia, scientific conferences; the implementation of joint scientific research projects and holding technological master classes; the exchange of scientific and technical information, literature and bibliographic publications.

 

Fergana State University, the oldest university in Uzbekistan, was founded in 1930 as a pedagogical institute. It was transformed into a university in 1991. The university currently enrolls over 22,000 students across its 12 faculties. The leading university in Kazakhstan has more than 150 international partners.
