The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia participated in a conference organized by San Diego State University - Georgia on the topic of internationalization of Georgian higher education.
In his address, Rector Samushia highlighted the international programs implemented by the university and the significance of collaboration with foreign universities. He indicated that the university is actively engaged in the implementation of international programs and projects. To facilitate the internationalization process, over the past few years, more than 400 professors and teachers from TSU participated in exchange programs at leading universities in Europe and the United States.
“The process of internationalization gives universities completely new opportunities, new directions, which changes the philosophy of the high school. The positive outcomes of this collaboration are already considerable and significant. It is my opinion that these relations should be developed further, and that greater attention should be paid to the development and implementation of the common program. I am proud that TSU’s programs were among the first to receive an ABET degree. It is important to deepen our cooperation with San Diego State University. I hope we have more conferences like this one that will contribute to the development of our shared programs and cooperation,” said Jaba Samushia.
Tbilisi State University has established collaborative relationships with 195 universities across the United States and Europe. Currently, 23 English-language programs are operational at the university, which were developed in collaboration with foreign partners.
