Jaba Samushia Holds Working Meeting with Korean Ambassador

 

The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia held a working meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Georgia, Hyon Du Kim. At the meeting, they planned to include Korean language teaching in Tbilisi State University’s educational program. With the help of the Korean Embassy, ​​a Korean language specialist will teach the language to TSU students. In addition, Tbilisi State University will publish a Korean language textbook.

The parties also discussed ways to deepen the cooperation between TSU and Korean universities, as well as opportunities for student and professor mobility, and joint scientific research.

“Our relations with the Republic of Korea are very important. Our university offers courses on the history and culture of the Far East, including Chinese and Japanese studies. Promoting the development of Korean studies is strategically important to us. We have relations with Korean universities. With the help of the Embassy, however, ​​we will further deepen our scientific and educational relations,” said Rector Jaba Samushia.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Georgia, Hyon Du Kim noted that the Embassy will support furthering existing ties between Korean and Georgian universities, fostering university relations, and facilitating student and professor mobility. The Embassy will also support the implementation of joint scientific projects, which will benefit both countries.

The meeting also discussed plans for the Ambassador to give a public lecture to TSU students on the history and culture of the Republic of Korea and Korea-Georgia relations.
