Jaba Samushia Signs Memorandums of Cooperation with Publishing Houses

At an event where cooperation memorandums were signed with five publishing houses, Tbilisi State University Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia spoke about the creation of a large network of bookstores at TSU and the inclusion of books from other publishing houses besides the TSU Publishing House in this network. “The university store network, University Book, will sell textbooks, fiction and other genres of publications. Obviously, these publications will meet certain academic standards. 25 thousand TSU students, professors, teachers, and staff will be able to purchase books at a discounted price,” said Samushia.

Speaking with representatives of the publishing houses Cezanne Publishing (Manana Kartozia), My Publishing House (Oliko Tsiskarishvili), Meridiani (Giorgi Gigineishvili), Carpe Diem (Aleksandre Aladashvili), and Arete (Giorgi Darsalia), the Rector noted that TSU plans to organize an academic book festival, book exhibitions and sales, which, on the one hand, will promote literacy among the younger generation, and on the other hand, will popularize new publications.

Additionally, the memorandums aim to enrich the university library with new books. As part of the agreements, the publishing houses will provide the university library with one free copy of each new publication. In turn, the university will assist the publishing houses
