Georgian Classics’ Series in English

Since 2020, Nova Science Publishers, one of the leading U.S. publishers worldwide, has been publishing books in the Georgian Classics series in English. The series aims to translate, publish, and distribute Georgian scientific thought and achievements to leading scientific centers and libraries around the world.

 

The series was founded under the leadership of Nova Science Publishers’ President, Nadya Columbus-Gotsiridze, and the artistic director of the Film Center “Georgian Film - Abkhazia”, Gela Kandelaki. The Film Center “Georgian Film - Abkhazia” has created a scientific-editorial council with well-known representatives from various fields of science. Among the translators is Professor Manana Rusieshvili, head of the Department of English Philology at the TSU Faculty of Humanities.

 

Books already translated and published include:

 

In 2020 – Mikheil Tsereteli - Nation and Humanity (translators Liana Partsvania and Marine Khuroshvili).

In 2022 – Zurab Kiknadze - Georgian Mythology, Books I and II (in one book, translated by Nana Basilashvili and Liana Partsvania); Giorgi Melikishvili – History of Ancient Georgia (in two books, translated by Marine Khuroshvili); Arnold Chikobava - Introduction to Iberian-Caucasian Linguistics (translated by Manana Rusieshvili).

 

In 2023 – Korneli Kekelidze - History of Old Georgian Literature, Volume I (in two books; translators Manana Rusieshvili, Liana Partsvania, Marine Khuroshvili and Nana Basilashvili).

 

In 2024 – Korneli Kekelidze - History of Old Georgian Literature, Volume II (to be published in two books; translators Manana Rusieshvili, Liana Partsvania, Marine Khuroshvili and Nana Basilashvili); Ivane Javakhishvili - The Story of Georgian Law, Book I (translators Manana Rusieshvili and Mariam Kutaladze).

 

In 2025, the work was completed and the following English-language manuscripts were transferred to the U.S. publisher: Ivane Javakhishvili – The Story of Georgian Law, Book II (translators Manana Rusieshvili and Mariam Kutaladze); Dimitri Uznadze - Collection of Works (translators Marina Khuroshvili and Nino Gegenava); Ilia Chavchavadze – Opinion Pieces (translators Liana Partsvania and Nana Basilashvili); Mikheil Tarkhnishvili - History of the Georgian Church from the Beginning to the End of the 7th Century (translators Irina Jobava, Tea Berulava and Ketevan Mamulashvili).
