International Conference “Development Perspectives of Georgian-Ossetian Relations”

 

The 11th International Conference “Development Perspectives of Georgian-Ossetian Relations: The Epic of the Narts in Caucasian Folklore” took place at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The event aimed to deepen Georgian-Ossetian dialogue, research cultural heritage, and promote regional cooperation.

Over 120 researchers from Georgia, Italy, France, Germany, Azerbaijan, Japan, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Dagestan participated in the conference.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; the Office of the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality; the Ministry of Culture; the State Language Department, and the Administration of South Ossetia, as well as prominent Ossetian and Georgian public figures attended the event.

The conference opened with a musical performance by the Nartebi ensemble, which symbolically expressed the role of folklore in intercultural dialogue.

The event was organized by the Georgian-Ossetian Relations Scientific Research Center of TSU. Its partners included the Ministry of Education, the Administration of South Ossetia, the State Language Department, and the Giorgi Akhvlediani Society.
