TSU Remains the Leader from the South Caucasus Among World Universities

Tbilisi State University is ranked "801-850" in QS World University Rankings 2024, one of the world leaders in the field of research, and maintains its leading position in the South Caucasus region.

In the latest QS World University Rankings, only 1,500 higher education institutions from 104 countries are represented worldwide, including two from Georgia - Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University. The latter appeared for the first time this year in the short list of rankings and is ranked "1400+". It is noteworthy that Georgian Technical University is the only higher education institution with an engineering, technological and humanitarian profile from Georgia and the South Caucasus to be included in the last edition of the QS World University Rankings.

The QS World University Rankings is a ranking system for universities worldwide, which is based on research on all key indicators. The results draw on the analysis of 17.5m academic papers and the expert opinions of over 240,000 academic faculty and employers. This year, the QS ranking list has undergone its biggest ever methodological enhancement with the introduction of three new metrics: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network.
