The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, the Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Director General of the National Archives of Georgia, Teona Iashvili, signed a memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum outlines plans for events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Akaki Chkhenkeli.
The memorandum includes the publication of a book-album about the epistolary heritage of the Georgian politician and diplomat; the organization of an exhibition of his archival and photographic documents; the holding of an international scientific conference; and the establishment of a one-time cash award for the Akaki Chkhenkeli scholarship holder.
