Presentation of the Collection “Human Rights Protection: European Experience and National Challenges”

On March 5, the presentation of the 18th annual collection titled “Human Rights Protection: European Experience and National Challenges” published under the auspices of the TSU Faculty of Law took place.

Tamar Zarandia, the dean of the TSU Faculty of Law; Irine Kurdadze, the director of the International Law Institute; and Konstantine Korkelia, the editor of the collection, addressed the audience with welcoming remarks.

Faculty members and co-authors of the collection shared their positive opinions with the public. The speakers noted that the collection aims to share the experience of different countries in the field of human rights and promote improvements to Georgia’s legal framework, judicial and administrative practices. The collection contains the authors’ works on current legal issues, in which they offer valuable insights on how to enhance Georgian legislation and practices.

The articles compiled in the collection focus on national, European and international experience in human rights protection.

The collection is intended for legal professionals, including judges, lawyers, prosecutors and employees of human rights NGOs, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in human rights issues.

It was funded with support from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Georgia.

The collection was published under the editorship of Konstantine Korkelia, Professor at the International Law Institute of the TSU Faculty of Law.

Representatives of academic circles, legislative, executive and judicial authorities, as well as students, attended the presentation.
