The 9th International Conference of the World Stroke Organization took place in Tbilisi, bringing together leading neurologists and stroke specialists from the United States, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, Canada, Israel, Turkey and Croatia. TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili welcomed the participants with an opening speech.
The World Stroke Organization is one of the most authoritative international platforms aimed at combating stroke, a disease that causes high mortality and disability, and strengthening global scientific cooperation.
The local organizers of the conference were the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at TSU’s Faculty of Medicine and the Georgian Stroke Association. The event was attended by university professors, including Academician Roman Shakarishvili, Professor Alexander Tsiskaridze, and TSU alumnus and U.S.-based scientist, Professor Alexander Razumovsky.
Organized with the support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, the conference aimed to share international experience in stroke research, deepen scientific dialogue, and develop innovative approaches in the field of medicine
