The three-day computer games festival ‘Tbilisi Digital Arena’ was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi University, focusing on the computer games industry. The event was organized by the TSU student club Innovative Technology Club and its partner gaming studio Revolt Entertainment.
The main goal of the event was to promote and develop the computer games industry in Georgia. During the three days various interesting events took place: game jam, where 33 teams competed against each other for 48 hours, and 17 teams were able to create the final prototype, internal university e-sports competitions in Fifa and Mobile Legend, a showroom of Georgian gaming studios and a cosplay competition.
At the event, Georgian and Polish experts gave interesting lectures and seminars on the creation of computer games; various types of activities were organized: retro gaming, board games, screening of Georgian indie films and other entertaining and educational activities.
The final day of the Tbilisi Digital Arena was dedicated to the identification of the winning teams and participants and the award ceremony.
The festival was supported by TSU, Coinmania (Georgian crypto exchange), Zoommer and Polish Digital Dragons (organizers of one of the most famous gaming conferences), who awarded the first-place winners with tickets to their event.
According to the organizers of the event, the computer games industry is one of the most interesting and important industries in the world today. It ranks second among the media industries, with a market size of up to 300 billion and the fastest growing rate. According to the organizers, Tbilisi Digital Arena will actively promote the development of the computer games industry in Georgia.
