Vladimer Papava Elected as Fellow of the Core Academy

Vladimer Papava, Academician, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Principal Research Fellow at the Paata Gugushvili Institute of Economics, Senior Fellow at the Rondel Foundation, Academician-Secretary of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, has been elected a Fellow of the International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities for his contribution to economics, especially macroeconomics and applied economics.

 

Vladimer Papava’s research is mainly focused on the study of theoretical and applied issues of economics. He created and developed the concept of Necroeconomics as a theoretical basis for the post-communist transformation of the economy; the concept of Retroeconomics was developed as an economic theory of technological backwardness; a Laffer-Keynesian Synthesis model was constructed; a method for eliminating the Catch-Up Effect in economic growth indicators has been developed; a system of complex inflation targeting for import-dependent countries was justified; the issues of transformation of globalization and economic externalities of large-scale economic sanctions have been studied, etc.

 

The International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities was established by the Government of Hong Kong and its members are selected from various countries around the world. The CORE Academy is an independent, academic, not-for-profit scholarly organization and merit-based academy. The aim of the Academy is to promote international, cutting-edge, and interdisciplinary research across all fields of science.

 

Vladimer Papava is the second Georgian to be elected as a Fellow of the International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Earlier, famous Georgian mathematician, academician Khvedri Inasaridze was elected as a Fellow of the Academy.
