During the visit of Tbilisi State University Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia to Acibadem University in Turkey in February, the two universities discussed potential areas of cooperation and ways to strengthen their relationship.
Following the agreement reached in Turkey, a delegation from Acibadem University, led by Professor Memet Özek, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, visited TSU. During the meeting with TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili, Dean of the TSU Faculty of Medicine Maia Bitskinashvili, and faculty representatives, the delegation discussed the possibility of internships for TSU students and professors at Acibadem University Hospital. Representatives of the medical departments of both universities agreed to share their experiences in both medical practice and academic areas.
Founded in 2007, Acibadem University is distinguished by its high-tech educational and research infrastructure. To this day, it uses dynamic and modern educational programs and a highly qualified team of professors and teachers to train future healthcare specialists.
