The TSU team achieved success in the 47th international rounds of the Telders International Law Moot Court

The Tbilisi State University team achieved success in the 47th international rounds of the Telders International Law Moot Court.

Tbilisi State University was represented by bachelor's students of international law of the Faculty of Law - Mariami Oniani, Anano Nachkebia, Demetre Diasamidze and Elene-Ekaterine Dvalidze. The coach of the team – Aleksandre Pataraia - holds the bachelor degree of International Law program and is a master's student in international law.

As a result of the successful participation in the international rounds, according to the overall scoring, the Applicants of the TSU team took the 3rd place, and the written memorials of the Respondents as well as the Applicants, came 5th in the rankings. Team members received international recognition and made the list of the best speakers.

The results of this year deserve special praise due to the serious challenge  the team faced a few days before the competition: one of the team members refused to participate in the competition and was replaced by a new participant in extreme conditions. But, despite such a difficult situation, the team performed well at the competition and successfully coped with the difficulties!

Telders Moot Court Competitions have been held annually since 1977 and are the most prestigious international legal competition on the European continent. Teams from leading European universities participate in the competition each year and discuss the contemporary issues of International Law. The main legal issues in this year's case concerned the request for Provisional Measures before the International Court of Justice, the jurisdiction of this court, international maritime law and international cyber security law.

Teams from 27 leading European universities participated in this year's international rounds. The TSU team pleaded against the teams from France, Hungary, the United Kingdom and Romania.
