The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) has been ranked among 4% (1,467th out of 35,038 universities in the world) of the best universities in the world, and among 9% (560th out of 6,036 European universities) of the best European universities, according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. TSU is the leader in the Caucasus region. 64 Georgian universities participated in the research.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.
