In partnership with the Harvard Division of Continuing Education, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is announcing the pre-selection process for the 2026 Harvard Summer School program.
The submission period for applications is: 29/01/2026 - 24/02/2026
Founded in 1871, the Harvard Summer School (HSS) is the oldest academic summer program in the United States.
Courses are taught by Harvard professors, prominent visiting scholars, and industry experts.
Benefits of the partnership include opportunities to build professional connections, support in the student visa application process, and other student benefits during and after studies.
Conditions of participation in the competition
Applicants with active TSU student status (all three levels of study) who meet the following prerequisites are eligible to participate:
1. Academic prerequisite:
Have a GPA of at least 3.2 in the current level of study (as of the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year)
2. Students who are not eligible to apply for a partially TSU-funded program include:
Students who will benefit from a TSU-administered exchange program in the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Students who will complete their studies at TSU in the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Students who participated in the Harvard Summer School with TSU funding in 2025.
3. Language competence:
Applicants must possess one of the following documents proving English language proficiency (issued no earlier than January 1, 2024):
TOEFL – 100 points on the internet-based TOEFL iBT test, including the TOEFL iBT Home Edition.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic* – 7.0, including the IELTS Academic online test.
PTE Academic Test (PTEA) – 70
Duolingo English Test (DET) – 125
Note: The deadline for full payment of the program participation fee, accommodation, and meals is May 11, 2026.
