Scientific Conference “Space, Society, Politics”

The XI International Scientific Conference “Space, Society, Politics” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor Revaz Gachechiladze was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). The conference was organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of TSU.

Georgian and foreign scientists and researchers working in the field of social and political sciences shared innovative scientific and methodological achievements with the audience.

The Vice-Rector of TSU, Nino Okribelashvili, the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Salome Dundua, TSU professors, foreign participants of the conference and students took part in the event.

“The conference is characterized by the diversity of its content and the large number of participants. I really hope that this tradition will continue for a long time and that the number of participants will continue to increase,” said Salome Dundua, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of TSU.

Revaz Gachechiladze, one of the keynote speakers of the conference, presented a report: “The South Caucasus and its Place in the World", which was about the South Caucasus, its importance for the world, its problems, etc.

“The conference fully reflects the topics presented at our faculty. Space is geography, politics is political science, society is sociology, international relations and so on. This conference is very important for the development of science. I tried to substantiate in the report from the theoretical point of view that the South Caucasus is a region, although it is a perceptual region, but for everyone who lives here, for them, it is a real region, and we want it to be a center of peace, an economic center, to play a greater role in the world,” TSU Professor Revaz Gachechiladze said.

The conference was held for the first time in 2013 and was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Revaz Gachechiladze. Since then, the tradition has continued and this year it was held for the eleventh time.
