BSU Hosts Presentation of Monograph “Green Transformation in Agri-Food Sector”

 

A presentation of the monograph “Green Transformation in the Agri-Food Sector: European Experience of Organic Farming and Georgia’s Strategic Choice” by Eter Kharaishvili, Professor at Tbilisi State University, and Badri Gechbaia, Professor at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, was held at the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Library.

The publication analyzes the sustainable development of the modern agri-food sector, the European experience of organic farming, the principles of the green economy, and Georgia’s opportunities for strategic development in this area. This important scientific work combines theoretical insights and practical recommendations for the country’s agri-food policy and approximation to European standards.

Rector Tite Aroshidze of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University opened the event, emphasizing the work’s scientific and practical importance, as well as the special role of university cooperation in developing modern research.

Academician of the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Professor at BSU Vano Papunidze, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Tbilisi State University, Associate Professor Manana Lobzhanidze, Professor at TSU Givi Bedianashvili, and Professor at the Georgian Technical University Guram Jolia, discussed the importance of the monograph and its topical issues.

Davit Batsikadze, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Supreme Council of Adjara, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Adjara, and academic staff of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University also attended the book discussion.
