Foreign Students at TSU

35 foreign students from 20 partner universities of 12 countries will study at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in the spring semester of 2023 within the framework of bilateral cooperation and Erasmus+ exchange program.

Organized by the Department of Foreign Relations of TSU, an introductory meeting for foreign students was held at Tbilisi State University. Vice Rector of TSU Nino Okribelashvili, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations Tea Gergedava, professors and representatives of the administration took part in the meeting.

According to Vice Rector Nino Okribelashvili, it is important that students who come to Georgia from different countries of the world familiarize themselves with the history and culture of Georgia along with the teaching-learning process. “Foreign students will later become ambassadors of Georgia in the countries they represent. I hope that this will be another step forward for the internationalization and advancement of Georgia and especially our alma mater in the international arena,” said Nino Okribelashvili.

During the introductory meeting, the representatives of Tbilisi State University provided the foreign students with information about the programs offered at TSU, student life and, in general, the opportunities that the university offers them.

“I came to Georgia for the first time five years ago and this experience was very interesting for me. Later, when I was choosing higher education institutions in Georgia, I decided to continue my studies at the number one university in Georgia. I am already in the second semester and I think that this is one of the best experiences in my life,” said a student from the University of Cadiz (Spain), who is studying in the Faculty of Humanities at TSU.

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University has more than 200 partner universities and research centers in 56 countries. In 2020-2022, 161 projects were implemented in partnership with more than 100 universities from 44 European countries. TSU offers 218 English-language learning courses for foreign exchange students. The number of international students studying both foreign language and Georgian language programs at TSU is increasing every year.
