An award ceremony was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) to recognize the outstanding contributions of university employees to events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili's birth.
TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, participated in the ceremony, as did Deputy Rectors Kakhaber Cheishvili, Erekle Astakhishvili, Nino Gvenetadze, and University Chancellor Lasha Saghinadze.
The university administration thanked the employees for their hard work and professionalism, noting that the 150th anniversary of Ivane Javakhishvili’s birth was one of TSU’s largest and most diverse anniversary projects.
Six TSU employees were awarded gold medals for their exceptional contributions to organizing and implementing the anniversary events. Additionally, symbolic gifts were presented to all university faculties and administrative departments participating in the organization of the events, in recognition of their active involvement and support in the anniversary celebration process.
As part of the anniversary week, about 40 diverse events were held, including international and national scientific conferences, exhibitions, public lectures, cultural and educational activities, and student initiatives, which introduced the public to Ivane Javakhishvili’s multifaceted legacy and his special role in developing Georgian science and higher education.
