Industrial and Organizational Psychology is a highly actual/ up-to-date and dynamically developing field. Through the development of qualified personnel and scientific research in this field, institute contributes to the dissemination and application of this knowledge in Georgia.

The Institute of Industrial and Organizational Psychology prepares highly qualified practitioners, scholars and researchers who specialize in the study of human behavior in the workplace. The major fields of their interest are: identify factors that influence workforce and organizational effectiveness and productivity, analyze the formation of human and social capital in organizations.

Studies

Industrial and Organizational Psychology is one of the fields/areas of Applied Psychology. Institute strives to integrate theory and practice within the curriculum as much as possible. It gives students access to the most recent advances and research data in the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Meanwhile in the process of problem-based learning during practical and seminar workshops, students acquire problem-solving skills that are instrumental in the face of real-life organizational challenges. The professors/ academic personnel at the institute have extensive hands-on experience in the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, that help them to create the most exciting, practice-filled, learning environment.

The Institute of Industrial and Organizational Psychology enables students to explore exceptionally relevant, up-to-date issues about employee attitudes, motivational policies, leadership, organizational communication, and organizational culture. Industrial and Organizational Psychologists fundamentally study the issues of employee selection, recruitment, training and development, performance appraisal, feedback, and common actual constructs in human resource management thoroughly; They learn business psychology, career management, labor law, consumer psychology, the methodology of organizational research and test theory (psychometrics) as well. Herewith, the Institute of Industrial and Organizational Psychology enables students to continue academic career and research activities in the master and doctorate programs of Industrial and Organizational psychology.
