Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming inseparable part of medicine and patient diagnosis, and dentistry is not an exception. AI makes the analyses of big data possible, easy, and fast. The lecture will introduce principles of AI, how it works and what are the fundamentals. Then it will discuss what are the AI applications in current dentistry. The session will also show how innovative inter-professional coordination among clinicians, researchers, and engineers will be the key of AI dominance in dentistry. AI allows synchronous work of clinicians and researchers from different parts of the world that reduces the overall time needed for diagnosis and treatment planning. The lecture will aslo show how AI can be used in education and research.
