The course is designed for:
Any interested person willing to get knowledge in this sphere, as well as destination management organizations (DMO), tourists, people employed in tourism industry, guides and gastronomic guides, representatives of food and service spheres, employees of the Ministries of Economy, Culture, Agriculture and National Tourism Administration.
The course will help students acquire general knowledge about what gastronomic culture is and how it can turn into a tourist and restaurant product as well as become one of image resources of the country, region or village.
Students will familiarize themselves with Georgian gastronomic culture as an intangible cultural heritage of the world;
Students will get knowledge about the role of gastronomic tourism and gastronomic culture in restaurant and tourism business, as well as in the development of Georgia’s economy and agriculture, its regions;
Students will also get knowledge about the essence and importance of gastronomic culture, feast and culinary tourism;
Students will get knowledge about gastronomic tourism as a global product business;
Students will be able to plan and arrange gastronomic tours;
Students will get knowledge about the values of Georgian traditional food culture and Georgian feast phenomenon;
Students will also get knowledge about regional intangible values;
Students will develop skills in the issues of gastronomic tourism;
They will familiarize themselves with the tools of gastronomic tourism popularization, its segmentation and types;
Precondition for joining the course: basic level of general education; additional requirement – minimum age 18 years
If needed, online platform Zoom will be used in the learning process.
