Irine Gogichaishvili is a 2018 graduate of the Vocational Education Center at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Despite her many years of work experience in the library, she decided to deepen her knowledge of the profession through formal education.
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics and Business at TSU, Irine soon started working at the TSU Library. “I have been working at the library for almost 28 years. Even though, I had gained a lot of knowledge and experience on the job, I still wanted to study this profession more thoroughly and to have an official diploma confirming my qualifications,” - said Irine Gogichaishvili.
She was encouraged to pursue vocational studies by Zurab Gaiparashvili, Director of the TSU Library and head of the program. “Following Mr. Zurab Gaiparashvili’s advice, I enrolled in the Library Work vocational program at TSU, passed the required exams, and became one of the first graduates of the Vocational Education Center in 2018. Today, I actively apply the knowledge I gained there in my daily work.” - Irine shared.
