New Academic Year at the TSU Center of Vocational Education

The beginning of the new academic year at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Center of Vocational Education was celebrated by the administration head of the university, Lasha Saghinadze, the director of the TSU Center of Vocational Education, Kakhaber Cheishvili, the first deputy director, Levan Tsikaridze, and the teachers.

Nearly 400 students will study in 8 vocational programs in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.

As Tbilisi State University Chancellor Lasha Saginadze stated, the vocational education center has enrolled a record number of students this year. "The Center of Vocational Education was established three years ago at Tbilisi State University, and during this period, we have added several new programs. The enrollment of students has doubled, and we believe that we will continue this trend in the future. Promoting vocational education is a priority for the state. Therefore, we support this process and hope that our graduates will be actively employed in the labor market," noted Lasha Saginadze.

In 2022, the TSU Center of Vocational Education accepted students in Tbilisi and Kutaisi for the following programs: Accounting, Preschool Education, Customs Administration, Event Management, Office Administration, Financial Services, Library Work, and Freight Transport Logistics.

According to Kakhaber Cheishvili, the director of the TSU Center of Vocational Education, the programs offered by the center are designed to ensure that graduates are competitive in the labor market with their qualifications. "Students who study with us not only gain theoretical knowledge but also undergo serious practical courses. Their instructors are successful individuals in their respective fields, and the practical experience they share is one of the keys to success," said the director of the center. He also noted that the center actively works in an inclusive direction and implements the involvement of students with disabilities in the educational process every year.

In the 2022 enrollment period, 2,105 applicants registered. Among the nearly 400 students are individuals of various ages and professions who wish to acquire new skills. Mariam Sebua, a student in the "Event Management" program, already holds a bachelor's degree in psychology but has decided to gain qualifications in another profession. "I am so close to art and theater that I think this program will help me develop my abilities. Through this program, I will grow more professionally - organizing more events, gaining more knowledge and resources," said Mariam Sebua.

Vocational educational programs at TSU have been offered since 2007. All vocational programs at TSU are 100% funded by the state.
