The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia met with the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski and the Rector of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Agnese Dāvidsone. Participants of the meeting discussed prospects of mutual cooperation, results of cooperation and expressed readiness for future cooperation.
“We value our friendship with Europe, these relations have lasted for centuries. Integration into the European Union means returning to our home, to our native environment. We fought for independence during the Soviet period. The Georgian, Baltic and Ukrainian peoples gained independence through a common struggle. It was a great victory,” Jaba Samushia said.
Rector Samushia asked the EU Ambassador to hold a public lecture for TSU students in the future.
EU Ambassador Pawel Herczynski spoke about the history and importance of cooperation between the European Union, its institutions and Tbilisi State University and confirmed his readiness to cooperate and support the university.
Agnese Dāvidsone, Rector of Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, spoke about the current relations between the universities and the importance of sharing experience. She expressed her desire to deepen the cooperation in the future.
