The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia held a working meeting with the members of the delegation of the People’s Republic of China.
At a meeting with Li Chao, Consul of the People’s Republic of China in Georgia, Lei Li, Director of the Suzhou Research Center (Xi'an Jiaotong University), and representatives of the International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Jaba Samushia discussed the potential for scientific collaboration and academic staff mobility.
“It is of great importance for our country, as well as for Tbilisi State University, to engage in collaborative endeavors with the Republic of China and its esteemed research institutes and higher education institutions. It is my hope that this meeting will serve as the foundation for future collaboration between our academic institutions. The field of electronic engineering is a particularly strong point at TSU. This program is implemented by Tbilisi State University in collaboration with San Diego State University. I believe that the opportunity to benefit from the considerable experience your university has in this field will be invaluable for us," stated Jaba Samushia.
Lei Li, Director of the Suzhou Research Center, said that Xi'an Jiaotong University cooperates with many universities around the world in the field of engineering sciences. “At the initial stage, it will be very important for us to cooperate with Tbilisi State University and implement joint projects in the field of engineering sciences,” Professor Lei Li noted.
During the meeting with the Rector, the Chinese delegation talked about funding allocated by the Chinese government for Georgian students and the possibility of studying in China.
