The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia held a working meeting with the delegation of Université d'Évry, an associate member of Université Paris-Saclay.
The sides discussed the teaching of the French-Georgian program in Computer Science at the master’s level, which will be implemented by Tbilisi State University in partnership with Université Paris-Saclay and partner universities.
Rector Jaba Samushia told his French colleagues that there is a great interest in computer science among young people. “Many foreign students, including students from the Central Asian countries, the Arab world, India and its neighboring countries are interested in studying computer science in Georgia. Thus, the Georgian-French master’s program in computer science will be conducted in English. We should further strengthen the cooperation between our universities and promote the development of joint educational programs”, said Rector Samushia.
Prof. Nazim Agoulmine from the University of Evry spoke about their interest in long-term cooperation with Tbilisi State University. “Our goal is not only the implementation of joint educational programs at different levels of education, but also the promotion of joint research projects, student exchanges and the sharing of experiences”, he said.
The French-Georgian BA program in Computer Science is already taught at TSU in cooperation with Université d'Évry, an associate member of Université Paris-Saclay, and with the support of the French-Georgian University. Graduates receive two diplomas – the TSU Bachelor of Computer Science and the University of Evry Diploma in Informatics.
