The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia, paid a working visit to Istanbul Technical University, where he met with the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal.
Istanbul Technical University, established in 1773, is the oldest technical university in Turkey and the third oldest university in the world. It currently enrolls approximately 40,000 students and enjoys a distinguished international academic reputation.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis placed on mechanisms for the exchange of academic personnel and students. The significance of strengthening collaboration within the framework of international credit mobility programs, such as the Erasmus+ programme, was underscored.
In addition, the parties discussed future plans for the preparation and implementation of joint research projects. Particular interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in areas such as mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry and interdisciplinary sciences.
