Jaba Samushia, Rector of Tbilisi State University, and Giorgi Grigolia, Director of the German-Georgian Medical Diagnostic Center LLC “Deutsche Diagnostikum”, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
During the event, the Rector emphasized the importance of improving the practical and clinical foundation of the TSU Faculty of Medicine, introducing modern technologies and involving recognized specialists in the lecture-theoretical part.
The Director of the German-Georgian Medical Diagnostic Center stated that the memorandum will contribute to creating an environment that allows TSU Faculty of Medicine students to reach their full potential. Giorgi Grigolia emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in the healthcare sector and the need to develop digital medicine in Georgia, including telemedicine, teleradiology, telemorphology and robotic medicine.
The memorandum aims to promote the development of digital medicine, the world's latest medical achievement, in Georgia. This involves developing close practical and scientific partnerships with the central university clinics and leading medical institutions in Western European countries, particularly Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as the United States. The parties also seek to promote the active involvement of Georgian doctors and researchers living abroad in Georgian university educational programs, as well as the implementation of joint projects with foreign specialists and scientists.
