Memorandum on Hungarian-Georgian Scientific Cooperation

The study of an ancient epoch of Hungarians has been launched in Georgia too – a relevant Memorandum on Hungarian-Georgian Scientific Cooperation has been signed in Budapest.

Rector of TSU, George Sharvashidze and Director of the Hungarian Research Institute, Gábor Horváth Lugossy signed the memorandum, envisaging research in the fields of archaeogenetics, archaeology, linguistics and folklore.

Prior to signing the memorandum, the Hungarian delegation paid a two-day visit to Georgia. The Tbilisi State University hosted the delegation involving Minister of Human Resources, Miklós Kásler, Hungarian Ambassador to Georgia, Anna Sikó and representatives of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary.

Dr. George Sharvashidze, Rector of Tbilisi State University, and Prof. Vakhtang Licheli, Head of the TSU Archaeological Research Institute, accompanied by Gábor Horváth Lugossy, visited the Hungarian Research Institute during their visit to Hungary.

Miklós Makoldi, Head of the Department of Archaeology, showed the guests around the archaeological diggings in Abasár, which was considered to be a royal household under the rule of the 3rd King of Hungary.
