The TSU Library hosted Raul Chilachava, a Georgian poet, translator, diplomat, and essayist. At the meeting, his seven-book collection, for which he was awarded the Shota Rustaveli Prize, was discussed. Participants discussed the importance of the publication and the author’s work. Chilachava introduced the attendees to the history of the collection’s creation and its content.
Raul Chilachava is the author of more than 160 publications. He is a member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences; an Honorary Doctor of the Latvian Academy of Sciences; a Doctor of Philological Sciences; a Professor; an Honored Art Worker of Ukraine; a member of the National Unions of Writers of Georgia, Ukraine and Latvia; a member of the International Association of Writers, as well as a member of the Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine. In addition to his literary work, Chilachava has engaged in public and diplomatic activities. From 1992 to 2005, he served as the Deputy Minister of Migration Affairs of Ukraine, and from 2005 to 2010, he was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Latvia.
