TSU Graduation 2024

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) hosted the primary event of the academic year – the graduation ceremony for the 2024 BA and MA graduates. The Rector of TSU, Academician Jaba Samushia and the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia Giorgi Amilakhvari extended their congratulations to the graduates on their graduation from the university and wished them success. The event was attended by members of the TSU Academic Council, deans of faculties, and distinguished guests.

A total of 3,600 students received their degrees from TSU this year. The most outstanding graduates from all seven faculties, at both the undergraduate and master’s levels, were honored with certificates of excellence and commemorative gifts.

The event showcased a plethora of materials created through the application of contemporary technologies, including artificial intelligence. TSU Capella performed the national anthem of Georgia and the student anthem, “Gaudeamus.” Additionally, the finalists of the TSU Star 2024 music competition and this year’s graduates presented a flash mob, performing a new and distinct interpretation of “Gaudeamus.”

As part of the event, the foundation was laid for a new initiative, designated the Alley of Graduates. The inaugural planting – a Japanese sophora - was planted in the alley on behalf of the graduates of 2024.

Prior to the commencement of the principal ceremony, graduates and their respective families were afforded the chance to engage in the taking of commemorative photographs in designated photo zones.

After the event, a party was held for TSU graduates at Turtle Lake, where they were entertained by musical groups: Mechanical Rainbow, DJ Haverdi, DJ Mazana.

About 26,000 students are studying on about 240 educational programs at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, including the programs with FIBAA and ABET accreditation and 27 foreign-language programs. Over 8,200 students will be enrolled in the 2024-2025 academic year.
