The Deputy Rector of Tbilisi State University, Erekle Astakhishvili met with the Spanish delegation, comprising Marcos Granados Gomez, Charge' d'Affaires a.i. of Spain to Georgia, and Fernando Vara de Rey, the director of the Cervantes Institute. The meeting centered on the potential establishment of an internationally organized DELE Examination Center at Tbilisi State University. An action plan for the establishment of a DELE branch at TSU was deliberated.
The representatives of TSU highlighted the strengths of the Spanish studies department at the university, as well as the challenges and problems that require attention in this regard. Furthermore, the participants deliberated on the potential for the Cervantes Institute to play an active role in promoting TSU in this regard.
The accomplishments of TSU’s collaboration with the Spanish government and the Basque Language Center were underscored, and the contribution of Spanish and Basque language instructors at the university was also acknowledged.
The meeting was attended by Spanish and Basque language instructors currently employed at TSU, as well as Tea Gergedava, the head of the Foreign Relations Department at TSU.
