Erasmus+ Institutional Development Project Meeting

On July 5-7, a meeting of the European Commission-funded Erasmus + Institutional Development project “Strengthening the Quality and Relevance of the 3rd Mission in Georgian Universities (SQUARE) was held at Batumi State University. Eight Georgian and three European universities, as well as EFMD international accreditation agency, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement are involved in the project implementation.

The project was coordinated by Tbilisi State University. Minister of Education, Culture and Sport of Adjara, Maia Khajishvili, and First Deputy Chair of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Adjara, Tamar Kaikatsishvili made opening remarks at the meeting.

The meeting lasted for three days. Training sessions were held during the first two days in a working group format, while the third day was dedicated to the issues related to the project management. The training sessions were led by the project’s foreign partners – CNAM (France) professors and representatives of University of Turku (Finland). Part of foreign partners attended the meeting physically, while representatives of Finland and Portugal joined the event online.   

The purpose of the project is to strengthen the quality and relevance of the 3rd mission in Georgian universities, to develop methodologies and guidelines for the 3rd mission planning, implementation and evaluation.
