As part of the European Days of Jewish Culture, the TSU Institute of Cultural Studies organized a meeting dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Aliyah from Georgia to Israel in 1925 and its leader, Nathan Eliashvili.
The event focused on the life and work of Nathan Eliashvili, an interesting yet little-known figure, and the period of his immigration to Israel. For the first time, unique photographs from Nathan Eliashvili's family archive, which were unknown to the public, were presented. His grandson, Dr. Ronnie Miller, who is the author of the research dedicated to Nathan Eliashvili, shared these photographs with the organizers of the meeting.
The event presented the results of a research project supported by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia - “Jewish Identity in Georgia: Soviet Transformation (1921–1941).”
