Education/Academic Degrees:

  • 1973-1979 - Qualified as Medical Doctor at Tbilisi State Medical University
  • 2002 - Defended PhD in 2002 at Tbilisi State Medical University
  • 2003 - Licensed as Specialist in Public Health and Healthcare Organization in 2003.
  • Since 2004 - Associate Professor 
  • Since 2018  - Professor 

 

Prof. Nata Kazakhashvili had been participating and cooperating with Partner Programs implemented by International Organizations in Georgia since 1994. She had been actively involved in International Conferences and Seminars regarding issues of Public Health; the most important among them are: Preparation of European Declaration on Patient Rights, (March 1994, Amsterdam, Netherlands), Training Course in Management (1994, Atlanta, USA), Implementation of Strategy of Improvement of Health Protection of Mother and Child in Developing Countries (1997 WHO/EU Regional Bureau, Copenhagen, Denmark), Implementation of the First Health Project of World Bank in Georgia (1995-1999); Participation in Primary Health Care System Reform Project together with WB/EU/DFID/OPM (1998-2002); In 2004-2008 Nata Kazakhashvili together with Oxford Policy Group (OPM) participated in preparation of training program for managers of primary health care, as a member of the training program and a lecturer. She participates in implementation of a partner program of SU/Scranton University. From 2012 to 2020 she participated in International Project “The World Justice Project” (WJP) as an International Expert.

 

From 2010, N.Kazakhashvili  participated in International Projects: TEMPUS project “Postgraduate Programs in Public Health and Social Service” ; USAID/G-PAC/TSU projects “Preparation and Implementation of Educational Programs for Teaching the Health Policy at TSU ”; The TEMPUS Project “Modernizing Undergraduate  Medical Education in EU Eastern Neighboring Area; Georgian-Norwegian Collaborative in Public Health SIU, Norway (Goal of the project: to harmonized education and research in Public Health with International standards based on Norwegian experience. Erasmus+ CBHE project “Doctoral Program in Public Health and Social Science” (Goal of the project to harmonized education and research in Public Health and Social Sciences with International standards based on European Universities experience. N. Kazakhashvili is an author of 68 scientific works, reviewer of numerous manuals and methodological recommendations. She is an author of book " Quality of Health Services". She was Awarded by a Special Medal and a Certificate of WHO/EURO for Eradication of Poliomyelitis in European Region.

Author of 68 scientific papers, co-author of numerous textbooks and methodological recommendations, reviewer, consultant. Awarded a WHO Special Medal and Certificate for its contribution to the eradication of polio in the European region.
