The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia and the Head of the International Relations Department, Tea Gergedava, held a working meeting with representatives of the International Relations Office of the University of Bologna.
Paola Candotti, Head of the International Mobility Office at the University of Bologna, and Sarah Piersigilli, International Credit Mobility Officer for the Erasmus+ program and coordinator of cooperation with Georgia, attended the meeting.
The parties discussed the results of existing cooperation between TSU and the University of Bologna, particularly with regard to student and academic exchanges implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ international credit mobility programme. Technical and administrative issues related to grant management were also discussed.
The importance of cooperation with European universities as part of TSU's internationalization policy was emphasized. The visit is an important step towards the practical implementation of this policy and will contribute to strengthening of the university's international ties and developing quality academic partnerships.
Representatives of the University of Bologna emphasized that TSU remains one of the most popular destinations among their academic staff and students. Students who have participated in the program at TSU have given particularly positive evaluations of the academic and cultural experience they received.
