A bust of the renowned infectious disease specialist, TSU Professor Tengiz Tsertsvadze was unveiled at the Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center. TSU Rector, Academician Jaba Samushia, as well as representatives from the medical field and other invited guests attended the event.
Rector Jaba Samushia noted Professor Tsertsvadze’s contributions to medicine, as well as his role in scientific and public life. Maia Bitskinashvili, dean of the TSU Faculty of Medicine, and Marine Ezugbaia, executive director of the Tengiz Tsertsvadze Infectious Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center, spoke about his achievements in medicine.
The TSU Rector presented the Tengiz Tsertsvadze Prize and Medal to the first laureates: Professor Lali Sharvadze and Associate Professor Akaki Abutidze, both from the TSU Department of Infectious Diseases.
